New York City 2009 Day 2

After rolling in the hotel late last night, I was up before 6 a.m. and to Grand Central Station before 6:45 a.m. Meeting up with Drew, my sister Lee Ann and Drew's mom, we caught a train to Bronxville.

Morgan's graduation was outside in tent on the Sarah Lawrence Campus. It was a very intimate setting and program. With only 280 graduates, it felt more like a high school graduation than a major college. The commencement speaker was Rahm Emanuel, the White House Chief of Staff. Rahm was a graduate of Sarah Lawrence.

After the commencement ceremony, there was a reception on the campus. From there, Drew, my sister and I wandered back into Bronxville for a late lunch. With Morgan working frantically to clean out her room, we headed back into the city.

Drew wanted to see Waiting for Godot starring Nathan Lane and John Goodman. We tried the hotel and called a broker, but could not find any tickets. We decided to walk down to the theater. They sold us two general admission tickets. They promised us a seat, but would not promise where the seat would be. We got a table on the sidewalk at the Cafe Iguana a couple of doors down from the theater for a couple of beers before the show started.

When we queued up with our general admission tickets, they took us down to the sixth row! We ended up sitting together and having great seats.

After the play, we wandered through Times Square and back to the hotel. We finished the night watching LeBron sink a 3 with 1 second left to win the game for the Cavs.
