The coaches of Jack's all star decided that they wanted to take the team to Galt to watch the Laguna 11U all stars play the Elk Grove North 11U all stars in the Northern California championship game. Jack and I went with the team. Two of Jack's long-time classmates were playing; Joe plays for Laguna, while Connor plays for Elk Grove North. Laguna won by a score of 8 to 5. They advance to a regional Cal Ripken tournament in Fallon, Nevada. Almost unbelievably, the Laguna 8Us and 9Us both won their Northern California tournaments and are advancing to the regionals.
After the game, the group headed back to Elk Grove for some batting practice.
The Northern California 10U tournament starts tomorrow morning in Oakland. Jack's team plays Washington Manor in their first game. This is a double elimination tournament. After the Cooperstown experience, I am frankly not sure what to expect.
