2010 PAL JV Comp SEAs versus St. Charles

In the second league game of the season, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Eagles played the St. Charles Cougars. Jack continues to start at the shooting guard.

On the strength of 8 first quarter points from Joe (the starting point guard), the Eagles ran out to a 12 to 1 first quarter lead. As a result, the bench players got a lot minutes over the rest of the game.

The Eagles continue to put enormous defensive pressure on other teams. For the game, they had 25 steals! This is more than twice as many steals as they have had in any other game this year.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton beat St. Charles by the score of 36 to 7.

Jack ended the game with 4 points on 1 for 5 from the field (I credited Jack with a basket that a player on the other team scored for the Eagles since he claimed he was the closest Eagles player). He added four steals and three assists, but no turnovers.

Jack continues to struggle with his shot; he even missed a couple of fast break lay-ups. Frankly, the whole team struggled. The team was 17 for 60 from the field for 28%. This is only slightly better than the 23% that they shot against St. James in the first league game last week. Against St. Charles, the bench went 7 for 33 from the field for 21%. The team is going to have to shoot better to beat the best teams in the league.

The box score for the game is here and the game log for the season is here.
