2010 LYB Major Angels Game #8

The Angels played their eighth game of the 2010 Laguna Youth Baseball Major season. For the second night in a row, they played the Braves. This was a make-up of a game that was rained out on April 12.

At the plate, Jack was 2 for 4 with a double, a strike out and two runs scored. In his first at-bat, he crushed the first pitch over the head of Jeffery playing center field for a double. He and Greysen scored on Breyton's double. Jack slapped a 2 and 1 pitch sharply through the left side for a single in his second plate appearance. He and Greysen scored on Dominic's double. In his third at-bat, Jeffery struck Jack out for the first time this rec season. With the count 2 and 2, the pitch was literally right under his nose. I was standing behind the umpire talking to Scott; it was a horrible call.

Jack's last at bat was a great battle. With two outs and the base loaded in the top of the sixth, Jack had a nine pitch at bat. He blooped the ninth pitch in shallow left center and the shortstop made a great diving catch for the out.

In the field, Jack played an inning in centerfield, one inning at third and two innings at first. He literally only handled the ball once the whole game. In the fifth inning on a dropped third strike, the catcher threw low to first base. Jack had to dig the ball out and then scramble to get to the base for the out.

The Angels won the game by the score of 10 to 4. The box score is here and the game log is here. The Angels now have 7 wins and 1 loss for the season.
