Taking off after work, I took I-5 to Red Bluff and then Highway 36 to Chester. I wanted to avoid the commute traffic on Highway 99 between Sacramento and Chico. I made great time [about 3 hours and 10 minutes] and got to the Dorado Inn in time for dinner. The Tomasins served chicken, beans and corn.
I am amazed at the amount of rock covering the hills as you climb out of Red Bluff. The idea that it was spread there by a volcanic eruption is more than a little intimidating.
Hunter, Tomasin, Snipes and I finished the day playing pool at the Red Onion on the peninsula.
