Memorial Day

Monday morning, Sharon and I wandered down to Greg and Michelle's house. We played pickleball for about an hour and a half. The group included Greg, Michelle, Jim, Debbie, Sharon and I.

Afterwards, we had lunch in Greg and Michelle's backyard. Greg barbecued burgers and brats. Sharon made a potato salad and Debbie made a fruit salad. After lunch, we hung out by the pool.

During lunch, Michelle mentioned the movie Flight. Sharon and I finished the day watching the movie.

Lee's First Overnight - Day 2 plus Memorial Day Barbecue

Lee went down to sleep after 7 pm on Sunday night and slept all the way through to 630 am. He woke up a happy little guy.

We fed him breakfast. Morgan scooped him up just before 9 am.

Sharon and I finished the day at her brother Tom's house. We barbecued burgers for dinner. With the temperature at 102, we swam and lounged in the pool.

Memorial Day Weekend Barbecue

Memorial Day Weekend BarbecueWith Jack home for a couple of weeks, Sharon and I decided to host a Memorial Day weekend barbecue. I don't think that we have ever done a family function on Memorial Day weekend. In addition to Sharon, Jack and I, the group included Timmy and Kathy, Eileen and Will, Erin and Cormac, Kevin, Leah and Lydia, Brun and Kim, and Janie. We barbecued hamburgers and corn. We also had green salad, potato salad and macaroni salad.

After dinner, the group watched a film that Brun et al made in the 1970s.

We finished the evening watching the Cavs beat the Celtics in Boston in game seven of the Eastern Conference NBA finals. On LeBron's back, the Cavs won the game by the score of 87 to 79.

Working with several of the neighbors, Sharon planned a French picnic dinner at Greg and Michelle's house. The group included eight couples: Mike and Jill; Tom and July, Dan and Deborah; Debbie and Jim; Kathy and Rod; Greg and Michelle; Rose Mary and her husband(?) [friends of Greg and Michelle], and Sharon and I.

Sharon selected recipes from The Picnic: Recipes and Inspiration from Basket to Blanket. She assigned out the recipes from the book.

Sharon arranged for Madi Sipes to play. She has been working on an album with Drew. Her first single will be released in the next few weeks by Drew's label Dawson Records.

It was a gorgeous evening with some fantastic food, excellent music and great company.
