Jack missed three days of school this week with flu. With him at best about 80%, we took off in the morning for the Big League Dreams in Manteca.
The Outlaws played the Bay Valley Bombers at 12:20 p.m. When they started the game, they had only nine players.
At the plate, Jack was 0 for 1 with two walks. In his first at-bat, he walked on eight pitches. With the count 2 and 2, Jack fouled off two pitches and then took two walk to get the walk. He stole second, but ended the innings there. Jack struck out looking on four pitches in his second plate appearance. In this third at-bat, Jack walked on six pitches. Time expired for the game with Jack on first.
In the field, Jack played third base for four innings. He had only one ball hit to him. In the top of the fourth, Jack fielded a grounder to the left side. With the runner going from second to third, Jack wheeled and tried to get the runner behind him. Missing the runner and spinning in a circle, he then tried to make the throw to first. Jack airmailed one about five feet over Keaton's head. As Jack said later, Yao Ming would have made the catch at first.
I jinxed him. In an email thread with Rod and Scott in the last two weeks, we were reviewing the number of unearned runs that the Outlaws had given up through the first four tournaments. I said in one e-mail that I was probably jinxing Jack, but he had not had a fielding error yet...
The Outlaws won the game by a score of 9 to 6 in four innings.
The Outlaws played the Nevada Dust Devils in the second game of the day at 2:30 p.m.
At the plate, Jack had one walk. In his only at-bat in the second inning, he walked on seven pitches. He stole second. Jack ended the inning at second.
In the field, Jack played two innings at first. He had one put on a throw from the pitcher and fielded a grounder to the right side and tagged first.
In a hard fought game, The Outlaws lost to the Dust Devils by the score of 3 to 2 in four innings. With four total errors, all of the runs were unearned.
The Outlaws ended the day with a record of 1 and 1. With an eleven team tournament, the Outlaws are seeded sixth in Sunday's single elimination and will be back at Big League Dreams for an 8:00 a.m. game. urrggghhhh.....

ESPN 30 for 30 - Muhammad and Larry
In the fall of 1980, Albert and David Maysles filmed a documentary of Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes training for their upcoming fight. The documentary never received a public screening or airing. Mixed with comtemporary interviews with some of the principles from both the Ali and Holmes camps, this footage has been released as Muhammad and Larry. This film is the fourth in ESPN's 30 for 30 series.
I am not a boxing fan; it is not one of my passions. Nevertheless, the flim is a amazingly candid look at Muhammad Ali in the twilight of his career. Shockingly, you can see the beginnings of Ali's Parkinson's disease even as he is training for the fight. I was also surprised by the comtemporary interviews with Holmes. He comes off as an oddly endearing character. Although not my favorite of the 30 for 30's so far, it is definitely worth watching!

3rd Grade: Art Lesson A again...
From the Fall of 2003 until the Spring of 2009, Sharon served as the art docent for Jack's class. About once a month, she would spent a couple of hours presenting a lesson on variety of subjects. Once they reach sixth grade that program stops and they have art as a formal elective. Sharon enjoyed doing this so she decided to volunteer to help with some of the younger grades.
She spent the afternoon as the art docent for the third grade class. This class has at least eight siblings of kids who are in Jack's class. The lesson introduced a more in depth look at portraiture. She gave the same lesson to Jack's class a little over three years ago. The Mona Lisa poster that she had brought back from the Louvre and put was still in the art box and she used it. The lesson also looked at four other portraits: American Gothic by Frank Wood; Don Manuel by Francisco de Goya; and George Washington and The Skater by Gilbert Stuart.
For their art projects, the kids created a portrait.

The Living Daylights
Continuing our glacial quest to watch all of the James Bond Films in order, we watched The Living Daylights on Saturday night. Released in 1987, it is the fifteenth James Bond movie and the first to star Timothy Dalton in the title role. The film's title is taken from Ian Fleming's short story The Living Daylights.
The movie has a fairly convoluted plot. Bond is sent to act as a counter sniper to protect a defecting Soviet. After successfully getting the Soviet defector to a safe house in England, he informs the British secret service that head of the KGB is systematically killing British and American spies. When the defector is seemingly snatched back by the Soviets, Bond follows him across Europe, Morocco and Afghanistan. Much of the last part of the film is set in Afghanistan during the Soviet occupation.
In addition to Timothy Dalton as James Bond, the film stars Jeroen Krabbé as General Georgi Koskov (the Soviet Defector), Maryam d'Abo as Kara Milovy (Koskov's girlfriend), Joe Don Baker as Brad Whitaker (an American arms dealer) and John Rhys-Davies as General Leonid Pushkin (head of the KGB).
The opening sequences of the film have some interesting footage of Rock of Gibraltar. I have added it to the list of places that I would like to visit someday.

Lexus RX400h Day 485
I took the Lexus RX400h in for the 30,000 mile service today. I am on a pace to drive 46,500 miles in the first two years. I am averaging 25.2 mpg since I brought the car, up slightly from 25.0 mpg at 20,000 miles. The EPA rating is 24 on the highway and 26 in the city.
Except for the fact that I wish that the cargo area was deeper and the fuel efficiency gauge was more accurate, I continue to be very pleased with the vehicle. Knock on wood, I have not had any problems.

2009 Flag Football End of Season Party
2009 Flag Football Game #6
Jack running for a touchdown from heringermr on Vimeo.
Jack played in his sixth and final game of the 2009 CSD Flag Football season. The Quick Silver played the Jet Hawks.
Jack played offense in the first half. He caught four passes including a long pass for a touchdown. Trying to throw deep, Wes threw a little bit of a duck. Jack did a great job of coming back for the ball, making the catch and then scoring. A lot of the kids do not adjust their routes once the ball is in the air. Jack does a good job of reacting to the ball. On the touchdown pass, he looked a center fielder tracking the ball in the air and making the catch.
Jack ran with the ball twice. In the video included above, Jack takes the ball, makes one kid miss, gets to the sideline and then turns on the jets. Jack also ran a half-back option play three times: the first time he threw an incompletion in the end zone, the second time he put the ball away and ran for a short gain and the last time he threw a strike into the end zone, but was across the line of scrimmage.
Jack played defense in the second half. With the Jet Hawks on the one yard line, they tried to run a flair in the end zone to Jack's man. As soon as the quarterback rolled to Jack's side of the field, I knew that the other team was in trouble. Covering a shorter player, Jack jumped the route and made the interception. He raced up the sidelines for a touchdown. Jack also made a number of good plays on defense, including not giving up on the play and catching several players from behind.
Although I had an argument with Jack about the final score, I think that the Quick Silver beat the Jet Hawks by a score of 45 to 34. The Quick Silver's record in games that Jack played was 3 wins and 3 losses.
The team might play in a flag football tournament in West Sacramento in November.

ESPN 30 for 30 - Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL?
Running on the treadmill on Wednesday night, I watched Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL. Celebrating ESPN’s 30 year anniversary, this is part of a documentary series featuring thirty films from an all-star cast of filmmakers.. ESPN has been running a new documentary every week; this is the third in the series.
The documentary does a great job of summarizing the three year rise and fall of the United States Football League (USFL). I am frankly amazed at how well they told the story in less than hour. The story of the USFL includes Herschel Walker, Mike Rozier, Reggie White, Jim Kelly, Steve Young, Brian Snipes, Burt Reynolds and Donald Trump.
There is also a podcast interview of Mike Tollin, the producer, by Bill Simmons that is a nice supplement to the documentary.

2009 Outlaws Baseball Tournament #4 Day 2
We skipped the first day of the Outlaws fourth fall tournament; Sharon and I were scrambling to get ready for the party. Up much earlier than I would have thought possible, Jack and I ended to Big League Dreams in Manteca for the second day of the tournament.
The Outlaws played an 8:00 a.m. against the Bombers. The Outlaws had 1 win and 2 losses on Saturday. In order to make the play-offs, they needed to win and hold the Bombers essentially scoreless.
At the plate, Jack was 0 for 1 with a walk. In his first at-bat, Jack hit a 1 and 1 pitch down the first baseline. The first baseman fielded the ball cleanly and tagged him out at first. The Bombers starting pitcher was very effective; he struck out 6 of the 10 batters the first time through the order. Jack walked on five pitches in his second plate appearance in the bottom of the fifth inning. Josh singled to drive in Jeremy and move Jack to third. James walked to load the bases. With one out, the next batter struck out. The following batter grounded into a fielder's choice to end the inning. The inning ended with Jack still on third.
In the field, Jack played third base for the first two innings and first base for the last four innings. In the second inning, he fielded a slow roller and threw the runner out at first. Jack was very busy at first base. He ended up recording 9 put-outs on throws from the pitcher, second baseman, shortstop and third baseman. Keaton caught one of the runners off base. Jack took the throw and chased the runner towards second. Unfortunately, he waited a little long to make the throw to Jeremy at second. His point blank throw bounced off Jeremy's chest and the runner was safe at second.
With the score tied 0 to 0 in the top of the fourth. The Outlaws made a series of fielding and throwing errors and ended up allowing four runs. One of the things that I struggle with as the scorer for the team is scoring errors. I ended up scoring one of the runs as earned and three of the runs as unearned.
The Outlaws ended up losing by a score of 4 to 1 in six innings. In addition to bases loaded with one out in the fifth, the Outlaws had a runner on third with no outs in the bottom of the sixth, but could not score.
The Outlaws ended up with 1 win and 3 losses for the weekend and finished fourth out of five teams.

2009 Fall Dinner Party
Sharon and I have made it a tradition to host a fall dinner party [2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003]. From a smaller event ten years ago, the party has taken on a life of its own. This year's group totaled twelve; this matches biggest group that we have ever done. The guests included the Cunninghams, Gainsleys, Sanborns, Pat and Bernard, Sherry and Janie.
We were able to get everyone out of the kitchen and into the backyard before dinner for caviar and vodka. This year's main course was wild boar. I will post the full menu in the next couple of days.
Continuing something that we started last year, before dessert, we showed a video. Last year we showed Dinner for One. This year, we showed two Justin Timberlake Saturday Night Live skits.
It was a great evening!

2009 Flag Football Game #5
ugh... Jack played in his fifth game of the 2009 CSD Flag Football season. Although the Outlaws were playing in a tournament in Tracy, we had him play flag football as we were racing to get ready for the fall dinner party. The Quick Silver played the Panthers.
Jack played offense in the first half. He had three nice receptions and two long runs. On the second run, he had turned the corner on the defense was free up the sideline. I don't think that anyone was going to catch him, but his flags fell on. Although this seems to happen to other kids all the time, it is the first in the three years of flag football that I can remember this happening to him. Jack was not pleased. Although they moved the ball up and down the field, they were not able to score and trailed by the score of 19 to 0 at halftime.
In the second half, Jack played defense. He had one interception.
The Quick Silver got stream rolled. The final score was 39 to 6. The Panthers just had more skilled players and team speed. The Quick Silver's record in games that Jack has played is 2 wins and 3 losses.

Jack returning an interception for a touchdown
Last Saturday, Jack's flag football team played Cole's team. I spent most of the game wandering the sideline with my flip camera.
Late in the game, Jack intercepted a long pass and returned it for a touchdown. He is #20 on the far side of the video at the beginning. Unfortunately, I was playing more attention to the game than where I was pointing the camera. As a result, I do a poor job of following him with the camera after the interception.
I am intrigued by video because of the move that he makes after he intercepts the ball. Starting up the field, he makes a move towards the center of the field, cuts to the outside and accelerates to the sideline for the touchdown. As an athlete, I was never capable of making that kind of move...

California Historical Landmark #446
Sharon and I stopped in Groveland for lunch on our way back from our anniversary trip to Yosemite.
Groveland
California State Historical Landmark #446
See this location on Yahoo Maps in Flickr
See this location on Google Maps
This landmark is located on the northeast corner of Main (State Highway 120) and Back Streets, Groveland, California in Tuolumne County. There are 18 other California State Historical Landmarks in Tuolumne. The GPS coordinates for this location are N 37° 50.352 W 120° 13.797.
You can log your visit to this landmark at waymark.com.
Formerly called 'First Garrote' because of the hanging of a Mexican for stealing a horse, Groveland was built in 1849 as shown by dated adobe brick taken from a partition, adobe buildings were still standing in 1949. Gold was discovered here in 1849, and thousands of dollars in placer gold were taken from mines on Garrote Creek, Big Creek, and other diggings.

Yosemite Hike: North Valley Trail to Mirror Lake Loop Trail to Snow Creek Trail
Using data from my Garmin 305, I generated the following maps and views of our hike along the North Valley, Mirror Lake and Snow Creek trails in the Yosemite Valley on Sunday. You can see Half Dome on the right of the second image; this is a screenshot from Google Earth. Towards the end, you can see where we climbed up the Snow Creek Trail above the tree line so that we could get a view back down the valley.

2009 Kings Tickets Draw
For the last twelve years, I have been part of an odd group that shared Kings season tickets. Through some unfortunate twists of fate, I actually ended up managing the group for the last three years. As I predicted last fall, due to the economy and the Kings record, I was not able to keep that group together.
Over the last year, I mentioned to a number of people that I might be looking to join a different group. I ended up joining a group that includes Marlene, Alan (a parent of one of Jack's classmates) and a couple of lobbyists. We drew the tickets last night at Hangar 17. Although I was a little confused initially about how the draw was going to go, I am pleased with the tickets I got.
The previous seats were in the second row of the upper deck behind the cameras. These seats are in the lower level on the side opposite the benches on an aisle.

Yosemite Day 2
Up fairly early, we had breakfast in the Ahwahnee Dining Room. With few people up and moving around yet, we got a great table in the west end of the dining room.
We brought our road bikes with us. The plan for the morning was explore the valley by bike. We took our time and made a number of stop including the Visitor Center, Lower Yosemite Falls, the Chapel, Curry Village and Mirror Lake. In total, we covered more than 9 miles in about 2 hours. We essentially traveled almost all of the bike trails in the Valley.
I have never ridden a bike in the Yosemite Valley before. It is a great way to wander around. You can cover a lot more ground and still stop and enjoy the views as travel along.
We got back to the hotel about 11 a.m. We packed up the car and started back towards Elk Grove about 11:45 a.m. We made a quick stop for lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Groveland. Instead of taking highway 120 back through Oakdale, I cut across to Copperopolis and came down highway 4. We were back in Elk Grove to pick up Jack about 3:30 p.m.
a very nice short getaway...

Yosemite Day 1
Sharon and I have tried to make it a tradition to get away for a night or two for our anniversary. Dropping Jack at the Outlaws Baseball practice Sunday morning, we rolled out of town. We are spending a couple of short days in the Yosemite Valley.
Leaving Elk Grove about 9:15 a.m., we got to the Ahwahnee Hotel about 12:45 with a couple of quick stops. Our room was actually ready so we are able to check in; we ended up in a nice corner room (A210). Dropping the bags, we headed down and had a light lunch on the patio in the back of the hotel.
The plan for the rest of the afternoon was a hike. From the Ahwahnee, we ended along the North Side Trail to the Mirror Lake Trail.
I had told Sharon about some pictures I had seen of the views from the Snow Creek Trail. We pushed to the junction of the Mirror Lake Trail and the Snow Creek Trail and then started up the Snow Creek Trail. It is steep with repeated switchbacks. I am interested to see what the GPS map ends up looking like; the GPS was getting confused as we headed up the switchbacks. We got to a point above the tree line with a view back down the valley before we turned around.
Back on the Mirror Lake Loop, we went as far as the Tenaya Creek Bridge. The South side of the Mirror Lake loop was closed due to an enormous rock fall. We turned around and headed back towards the hotel. With the quick stop at Mirror Lake, we headed up covering more than 6 miles in about 2 1/2 hours.
After getting cleaned up, we headed down and had sat in the Great Lounge and had a drink. The Great Lounge is 77 feet long and 51 feet wide with 24-foot-high ceilings and a massive fireplace.
I walked outside to get some better phone reception to check on Drew and Jack. The twilight view of the hotel against the granite cliffs is amazing.
We finished the evening with dinner in the Ahwahnee Dining Room. Sharon had prime rib, while I had the rack of lamb. We had a bottle of Mary Edwards Pinot Noir with dinner. While the food was adequate, the dining room is unique. It was a 34-foot high ceiling with large sugar pine trestles and ceiling-to-floor windows framed with stained glass.

Fund Raiser for Dan Lungren
Sharon, Janie, Marlene, Phil and I went to a fund raiser for Dan Lungren at the Lent Ranch. In addition to Lungren, John Boehner minority speaker of the house spoke after dinner.
2009 Flag Football Game #4
Jack played in his fourth game of the 2009 CSD Flag Football season. He missed last week's game playing baseball in the tournament in Tracy. The Quick Silver played the White Knights; Cole was on the other team.
Jack played his best game of the year. He threw for a touchdown, ran for a touchdown, caught a pass for an extra point and returned an interception for a touchdown.
He played offense in the first half. Jack had two catches. The first catch for a small gain and the second catch to score an extra point after their second touchdown. Jack ran the ball three times. He got a short gain early in the first half. With Jack playing halfback, they ran a half back option twice. The first time Jack swept left and threw a low pass into the end zone for a touchdown; the receiver made a nice catch. The second time Jack went left looking to throw, put the ball away, reversed his field and sprinted into the right corner of the end zone.
Jack played defense in the second half. He had one interception that he returned about 40 yards for the touchdown.
The Quicksilver won the game by a score of 25 to 0. Their record in games that Jack has played is 2 wins and 2 losses.

Elk Grove Outlaws 11U versus Woodland Thunder 11U
Jack and I went to Klenherd Park in Woodland. The Outlaws played the Woodland Thunder.
At the plate, Jack was 1 for 2 with an RBI. In his first at-bat, he fell behind in the count 0 and 2. Jack tomahawked the third pitch through the left side of the infield as the shortstop was rotating over to hold the runner at second. On at first, Jack purposely got caught in a rundown so that Josh could score from third. With the bases loaded, Jack hit a 1 and 1 pitch to the right side of the infield in his second plate appearance. It was probably his sharpest hit ball in the last couple of weeks. Glancing off his extended glove, the Thunder second baseman was able to track the ball down and get Jeremy in a fielder's choice at second. Jack drove in one run. Jack ended the inning stranded at third.
In the field, Jack played two innings in left field, an inning at third and an inning at first. He only had one opportunity to handle the ball. Playing first with Matthew playing shortstop, Matthew fielded a slow roller and threw a ball in the dirt to Jack's right; Jack was mad at himself for not digging it out...
The Outlaws won the game by a score of 6 to 5 in a long four innings. The next tournament is the weekend of October 17 and 18.

Out of the Dark into the Light
For the first time in almost exactly twenty-five years, I have bought an Apple Mac. The last time I bought a Mac for myself was September of 1984 and Drew was seven months in utero. My sister and I have bought MacBooks for both Drew and Morgan as college graduation presents.
Over the last three years, I have carried an HP laptop running Vista for work. The desktop in the den at home has been a five and a half year old HP running XP Media Center. Using these two computers every day has convinced me that Vista really added no value to the Microsoft Windows franchise. I have tried to articulate this to Microsoft on several occasions...
The HP in my den has been getting slower and slower. I was trying to make it to the introduction of Windows 7 in late October. Unfortunately, it died a painful death and I have been unable to get it running again. I have been toying with the idea for some time and decided that I would replace the home desktop with an Apple Mac. I got a Mac Pro.
I ordered my offsite back-ups (>140G) from Mozy. Using the back-ups, I was able to get my iTunes library rebuild in about 30 minutes. I was using Picasa to manage my pictures. I downloaded the Mac version and loaded all the pictures into Picasa in another 30 minutes.
So far, I am extremely pleased with the Mac. I am going to switch my work laptop to Windows 7 in the next month. I will be interested in comparing the Mac running Snow Leopard with the HP running Windows 7.

2009 Outlaws Baseball Tournament #3 Day 2
Back at the Tracy Sports Complex for the second day, the Outlaws played Monterey Bay again at 11:00 a.m. The Outlaws had beaten Monterey Bay the previous day by a score of 7 to 2.
At the plate, Jack was 1 for 2 with a run scored. In his first at-bat, Jack lifted a 2 and 2 pitch over the shortstop in shallow left center for a single. He stole second and went to third on a wild pitch. When Josh walked, Josh continued towards second drawing a throw. Jack raced home to score. In his second plate appearance, Jack hit a 3 and 2 up the middle. The pitcher made a nice play on the ball and threw Jack out at first.
Jack and Cooper were both designated hitters for the game. Apparently, the tournament rules allow you to bat as many people as you want.
In a seesaw game, Monterey Bay ended up winning by the score of 10 to 7. After four innings, the Outlaws trailed by the score of 7 to 6. They gave up a couple of unearned runs in the top of the fifth throwing the ball around in a perfect example of monkey ball... Keeping the book for the team, I have a hard time figuring out how to score all the throwing errors.
Monterey Bay threw a giant pitcher for the first four innings who had pitched for Lamorinda at Cooperstown. Pat and Jack were the only two boys to get a hit off of him.
Interestingly, Monterey Bay went on to beat Hard 90 in the next game by the score of 10 to 1.

2009 Outlaws Baseball Tournament #3 Day 1
Up early, Jack and I took off for the Tracy Sports Complex.
The Outlaws played Monterey Bay in a 9:00 a.m. game.
At the plate, Jack walked twice and had a RBI on a sacrifice fly. In his first at-bat, Jack walked five pitches; he was still at first when the inning ended. With the bases loaded and one out in his second plate appearance, Jack hit a towering shot to right center for a sacrifice fly and a RBI. Jack walked on six pitches in his third at-bat. He advanced to second and third on wild pitches. Josh hit a chopper in front of the mound. The pitcher fielded it and caught Jack off third. He got in a run down and was eventually called out for going out of the baseline.
For the first time that I can remember, Jack played first base in a tournament game. He handled the ball cleanly on six throws to first base. James threw a pick off move wide. Jack tracked the ball down quickly and threw the runner out trying to go to second.
The Outlaws won the game by a score of 7 to 2 in six innings.
After the game was over, the Outlaws turned around and played Hard 90 at 11:00 a.m. This is the third time that they have faced Hard 90 in the last two weeks.
Jack was the designated hitter for the game. He was 1 for 2 with a strike out, hit by pitch and a run scored. In his first at bat, Jack was hit on the foot by the first pitch. He was still at first base when the inning ended. In his second plate appearance, Jack struck out swinging on five pitches. Jack hit a chopper off the end of the bat to the right side of the infield in his third at-bat. The ball had a funny spin on it. By the time the second baseman tracked it down, Jack was charging down the line and was safe at first. He stole second and went to third on a wild pitch. Jack scored on an infield out to the right side by Breyton.
In a close game, Hard 90 won by a score of 6 to 4 in five innings. The Outlaws had runners on third in every inning and the bases loaded twice. It just seems like they never get any of the close calls against Hard 90. The parents were getting more than a little animated as the game wore on. Unfortunately, one of the boys (not Jack) got thrown out of the game for yelling at the umpire after a particularly close call.
The Outlaws ended up seeded third out of six teams and will be back on Sunday to face Monterey Bay again.

The reconstructed building is located on I Street west of the California Railroad Museum. There are 57 other California State Historical Landmarks in Sacramento County. The GPS coordinates for this location are N 38° 35' 4.17" W 121° 30' 16.38".
From the late 1850s and into the 1880s, the Big Four Building occupied much of the entire south side of K Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets. The store’s telegraph address, "54 K Street," was also its physical address.
At street level, the Stanford Brothers Warehouse and the Huntington, Hopkins & Company Hardware Store occupied interconnected buildings. At first, the second floor spaces were occupied as living quarters by the Huntington and Hopkins families. But as both businessmen became more prosperous and were able to build homes in residential areas, the upper floor of the Huntington, Hopkins & Company side was used as a stockroom and as lodging for the store’s clerks. Most important among the Stanford side’s upstairs tenants was the Central Pacific Railroad, established by Charles Crocker, Huntington, Hopkins, and Stanford. The Big Four Building would serve as the railroad’s first headquarters, throughout the challenging years of construction and into the first decade of transcontinental operations.
However, by the late 1870s both the railroad and the hardware store had grown beyond the capacity of the Sacramento area. The Central Pacific Railroad especially needed the access offered by a big city. Thus, in the early 1880s, both were moved to a large storefront in San Francisco.
By the time construction for Interstate 5 necessitated the building’s demolition in 1963, there was little evidence left to suggest the site held historical significance. The California Department of Parks and Recreation determined that the Big Four Building was worthy of preservation, at least in spirit. When the time came for demolition, a sampling of decorative elements and building materials were set aside for future use. A site was found, next to the historic Nathaniel Dingley Steam Coffee & Spice Mill building on I Street, upon which to re-create a new Big Four Building in 1965.
