Another Domino Falls [Tomasin retires...]

I had never really thought much about retiring until the adult beverage scrums during the Army/Navy football weekend last December. Now, another domino falls.

To Windsor

Finishing up a year and a half working out of the Napa Valley, I headed to Healdsburg to met Tomasin at his office. We made a quick stop at John & Zekes in Healdsburg.

Heading to Windsor, we stopped in Dino's garage to watch some of the first half of the Panthers versus Broncos NFL game. From there, we headed to the Tomasins house. Julie made a great dinner of carne aside, rice and salad. Tomasin and I finished the night watching the rest of the football game. The Broncos eventually won the game by the score of 21 to 20. Cam Newton got hammered repeatedly. I amazed that he wasn't concussed...

A Celebration of Life for Betty Wallen

I spent the day winding my way and back to Cobb Mountain in Lake County. I went to the burial and celebration of life for Betty Wallen.

I got to the Loin's Club early and had a chance to visit with the Wallens. Bob, John and I went out to the cemetery to make sure that everything was in order before the service. The Tomasins and Snipes rolled up to the cemetery a little before the service started. After the service, everyone headed back to the Loin's Club. It was a beautiful day and a very touching tribute.

To Windsor

After a quick stop at Johnny Garlic's, we headed back to the Tomasin's house in Windsor. Julie made a nice dinner of pasta. Staying fairly late, I wandered back to Napa for the night...
