Throwback Thursday - San Francisco - April 1995

This is the second of two pictures that popped out when Snipes and I were in Bremerton in May looking at John and Jill's photo albums. Taken at an Italian Restaurant in San Francisco, the group got together to see Phantom of the Opera. I had been dating Sharon for two months. I left a week later to visit the Nooters in Moscow. It was taken almost exactly ten years after the picture that I posted last week.

Throwback Thursday - Chico Way, Bremerton - March 1985

When Snipes and I were in Bremerton in May, John and Jill pulled out some old photo albums. I was shocked to come across two pictures I would have bet didn't exist. The first picture is from forty years ago. In March of 1985, Drew, my ex-wife and I traveled to Bremerton to celebrate Becky's first birthday!

Throwback Thursday - Maxwell Rodeo - May 1979

When we were at Sea Ranch in April, we walked to the bar at the lodge for a cocktail. The couple sitting next to me at the bar asked the bartender to switch the TV from the NBA playoff game to Professional Bull Riding. The woman knew the names and backgrounds of all of the riders. Talking with them, I mentioned that a long time ago I had ridden a bull (actually a steer) at the Maxwell Rodeo. Tomasin, Nooter and I all rode. Sharon turned to me and said “I have never heard this story before!?!”

When we got home, I wondered if anyone had pictures. Reaching out to the Davis Mafia, it turned out that Tomasin does! Although it is hard to be completely sure, I believe that the first picture is me, the second picture is Nooter and the third picture is Tomasin.

Throwback Thursday - 1985

When we were at Drew's for the Christmas weekend, I saw these pictures on the piano in his studio. I am wearing a t-shirt from the Avenue of the Giants Marathon. I ran that marathon in May of 1978.

In the second and third pictures, Drew and I are in front of Macintosh 128K that I purchased in September of 1984. This was the original Macintosh and was released in January of 1984.

Throwback Thursday - Sacramento Capitols - 1982

This picture was on one of the boards at Ricky's Celebration of Life earlier this month. I asked Gail for a copy. Ricky and I are playing for the Sacramento Capitols in early 1982. Tomasin wasn't sure who we were playing.

Throwback Thursday - Puerto Vallarta - December 1992

Gail sent Drew the picture on the left last weekend. I spent a week playing Rugby in Puerto Vallarta in December of 1992. The picture on the right is part of a photo album of My Life; one picture for each of my years. It has Ricky (#7), Tomasin and I on the field during that week. One more picture from that trip is here.

Ricky's Celebration of Life is this weekend. Love you, Ricky, miss you.

Throwback Thursday - Ricky - 2011

At Surprise Stadium for a Texas Rangers versus Seattle Mariners spring training game, Ricky wandered off on a walkabout. When the game ended, he was nowhere to be found. Walking back to the car, we found Ricky standing on top of the car yelling “where are my people?” Love you, Ricky, miss you.

Throwback Thursday - Drew Pic 1 - April 2006

Cleaning the den in March, I found a mailer containing a DVD from my sister Lee Ann. The DVD has a series of pictures of Drew from a photo shoot in 2006. I am going to post a number of the pictures on Thursdays over the next several weeks.

I get a particular kick out of this picture. Drew lost this hat somewhere during the night of my 50th birthday party!

Throwback Thurday - AT&T Park - June 2007

Working from home over the last month, we started cleaning the den on weekends to make it livable. I uncovered several different artifacts. In 2007, I got the unique opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a Giants game in AT&T Park (now Oracle Park). Sutter Health was a major customer of AT&T. I haven't previously posted the pictures...

Throwback Thursday - Marysville - 1958

Drew found this picture at his mom's house. From 1958 to 1960, we lived in a house in Marysville in a neighborhood east of the high school. Growing up, we had a pair of springer spaniels: Rex and Sam. Rex lived to be about twelve years old. I love this picture of him as a puppy.
