Almanor 2005 Day 3

A great day at the lake!

Up fairly early, I went for a 4 mile run north along the lake. I feel like I was running with a piano on my back for most of the way...

Tomasin took an early boat out with Julie, David, Mike and Chris. Drew, Morgan, Jack, David and I went out with Tomasin on his second run about 9:00 a.m. We headed up spending over three and a half hours on the lake. I single skiied and then skurfed. Drew and David wakeboarded. Morgan skiied on doubles. After stopping at Lassen View for a tank of gas. We swapped Drew, Morgan and David for Robbie, Danny and Eric. The three of them then wakeboarded. Danny, in particular, looked like he was born on a wakeboard.

Over a late lunch, I made a couple of tee times at Bailey Creek. Sharon, Jack and I took off for there about 2:30 p.m. We had three different groups. Our foursome included Sharon, Jill Wallen, Jack and I. Jack and I rode in the cart together. This is the first time that Jack has actually played his own ball. He was so excited the whole time that he literally bouncing off the cart. We did not go to the driving range and I started horribly. I ended up settling down and playing pretty well over the last five or six holes. I ended up shooting a 54 over nine holes. Jill shoot a 55 and Sharon had a 56.

Hunter was cooking dinner and wanted to serve dinner early. It was Robbie's 21st birthday and Hunter wanted to take a group across the lake to Plumas Pines to celebrate. In typical Hunter fashion, everything ran late and we did not end up eating until after 8:30 p.m.

After cake and ice cream for Robbie's birthday, we loaded up a couple of groups for Plumas Pines. Wallen drove around, while Hunter took his boat. A large group spent a couple of hours at Plumas Pines playing 21 aces and helping Robbie celebrate his birthday.

On the way back, Hunter stopped the boat in the middle of the lake. We had a great view of the milky way. By the time I was home in bed, it was after 1:30 a.m.
