at Empire Ranch Golf Club

Holly, Van, Sharon and I played the Empire Ranch Golf Club. Although this is the site of an imfamous Larkin incident at a Quest Tournament in the 2000s, I had never played here before. We teed off at 1:00 pm.

After a horrible session at the driving range on Thursday, I felt pretty good at the range. I got off to pretty good start. Unfortunately, between the 6th and 11th holes, I had several what Jack calls gallery lost balls. I hit a nice shot, but couldn't find the ball. If there had been a gallery, it would have been clear where the ball was... This included my tee shot on the 10th that I hit right down the middle of the fairway.

All four of us hit our tee shots over the tules on the par three 18th. I hit a hybrid five into the right front of the green. It has a nice way to finish the round.

It took us just over four hours. I ended up with a very liberally scored 110.
The four of us finished the night with dinner at Scott's Seafood Roundhouse in Folsom. Sharon and I both had a scott’s caesar [Little gem lettuce, grana padano, lemon, garlic-sourdough breadcrumbs]. For entrees, Sharon had macadamia nut crusted sea bass [Coconut-cilantro black rice, mango chutney, char-grilled asparagus, macadamia nuts, brown butter-coconut soubise], while I had swordfish schnitzel [Parsnip mash, mixed chicory, fennel, sunchoke, broiled lemon, dill vinaigrette, whole grain mustard cream].
