Saturday night, Sharon and I watched the last episode of season four of Ted Lasso. Sharon and I finished season one in July 2021, season two in November of 2021 and season three in June of 2023.Ted Lasso is a sports comedy-drama television series developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly. It is based on a character Sudeikis portrayed in a series of promotional media for NBC Sports's coverage of England's football Premier League.
The fourth season of 10 episodes premiered on Apple TV+ on August 5, 2026. The season finale aired on October 7, 2026.
Ted Lasso returns to London to help launch AFC Richmond’s new women’s squad, applying "The Lasso Way" alongside Coach Beard and newcomer Alice Chilton. Meanwhile, Rebecca protects her controlling stake in the club against a covert corporate takeover and embraces a fresh romantic future. Ultimately, the season reflects on personal growth and accepting life’s messy changes.
I have really enjoyed season four. I recommend it. The show can be a little uneven at times. Within the same episode, there will be a segment that falls flat and then the next segment will hit it out of the park emotionally.
It will be interesting to see if they film a fifth season. Sudeikis has shared that he envisioned a new three-season story arc covering Seasons 4 through 6. Additionally, the primary cast members were signed to multi-year options ahead of Season 4.
The NBC Sports promotional ads featuring Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso first aired in 2013. The initial video, titled "An American Coach in London," was released in August 2013 to promote NBC Sports acquiring the broadcast rights to the English Premier League, featuring Ted as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur. Due to its popularity, NBC followed up with a sequel ad campaign titled "The Return of Coach Lasso" in 2014.
