Jack had his third day of try-outs for the Under-9 Select Soccer team. When the try-outs started, it was raining lightly. Within about 30 minutes, it started to pour. At about the 40 minute mark, the coach organized the boys into two teams for a quick scrimmage. He told the parents that he wanted to see the boys play one last time for 5 or 10 minutes before he made his final selections.
Jack scored within the first 5 minutes and then had a nice assist to one of his rec teammates for another score about 2 minutes later. Those were the only goals scored in about 15 minutes of play in a downpour.
Unfortunately, it was probably a little too late. We did not get a call tonight with an offer to be on the team...
