Jesuit JV Baseball versus Folsom

The Jesuit Marauders JV baseball team played the third game of a three game series against the Folsom Bulldogs. Jack was sick two days this week and missed practice on Thursday. As a result, he didn't start. After beating Folsom handily in the first two games, the coaches took the opportunity to play lots of boys in this game; sixteen different Marauders batted.

The Marauders jumped on the Bulldogs for six runs in the top of the first and never looked back. The Marauders won the game by the score of 10 to 0 in five innings. There is a 10 run mercy run after five innings. The box score is here and the scorecard is here.

Beards (1-0, 1 Save, 1 Start, 3 appearances, 9.67 innings, ERA 0.00) got the win. Striking out three and walking three, he gave up three hits over five innings.

After not using the radar gun for the first part of the season, I got it out for the game. The second Folsom pitcher was throwing in the high 60s; samples included 66, 68 and 69. Samples for the third Folsom pitcher included 62, 54, 62 and 59. You can't throw 60 mph fast balls to these boys…

The Jesuit JV baseball team now has 8 wins and 1 loss. Their league record is 2 wins and 0 losses. The game log is here.

Monday's game is going to have to be replayed on Saturday morning. The game was stopped due to rain with two outs in the top of the fifth with the Marauders leading by the score of 9 to 0. CIF section rules indicate that this is a suspended game that has to be replayed from the beginning.
