Jack and Jason took the train over from San Francisco to come to the game. I picked them up about 9:30 am on Friday morning. Before the game, Jack, Sharon and I had a late lunch at Cafe Bernardo.
Jason, Jack, Sharon and I met Drew and Carmen and David and Tomasin outside the arena about 5:50 pm. We orginally talked about bringing Daniel and Lee, but Morgan thought that I would be too much with the new baby. We went early in order to hang out and enjoy the loft. I got a chance to go to the loft when I was working for Adven/tist Health.
We saw the Sacramento Kings play the Toronto Raptors in a NBA basketball game. With the Kings leading by 20 points at the end of the first half, the Raptors cut the lead to three points with just over a minute to play. The Kings held on to win the game by the score of 135 to 130.
Domantas Sabonis and De'Aaron Fox were the high scorers for the Kings. Sabonis has 24 points on 11 for 16 from the field and 2 for 3 from the free throw line. He added 15 rebounds and 11 assists. It was his third triple double in the last four games. Fox had 24 points on 10 for 20 from the field, 1 for 3 from three and 3 for 3 from the free throw line.
Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley were the high scorers for the Raptors. Barnes had 20 points on 8 for 15 from the field and 4 for 8 from three. Quickley had 20 points on 6 for 17 from the field, 4 for 12 from three and 4 for 4 from the free throw line.
The Kings have two wins and one loss in games that I have seen in person during the 2023-2024 season.
The loft included some food (pizza, chicken, fries, popcorn...) and a waitress for bar service. It was a wonderful evening. It is a very intimate experience. Sharon noted that you don't feel like you are in a crowd at a game.
