2024 Kings versus Pelicans

Drew, Nick, Larkin and I met for lunch at the Yard house [Poke Salad]. Afterwards, we went to the Sacramento Kings versus New Orleans Pelicans NBA basketball game.

It was an ugly, ugly game. The Kings fell behind by 25 points at halftime. Early in the fourth quarter, the Kings fell behind by 50 points (112 to 62). In 39 years of attending Kings games, I don’t think I have ever been at a game where the Kings fell behind by 50 points. The Kings lost the game by the score of 133 to 100.

Domantas Sabonis and Kevin Huerter were the high scorers for the Kings. Sabonis had 17 points on 8 for 12 from the field, 1 for 2 from three and 0 for 1 from the free throw line. He added 10 rebounds. Huerter had 17 points on 6 for 10 from the field, 2 for 6 from three and 3 for 4 from the free throw line.

De'Aaron Fox had 3 points on 1 for 10 from the field and 1 for 4 from three. He is averaging 28.3 points a game this season. As a team, the Kings were 15 for 45 from three (33%).

C.J. McCollum was the high scorer for the Pelicans. He had 30 points on 11 for 16 from the field, 7 for 10 from three and 1 for 2 from the free throw line. As a team, the Pelicans were 19 for 35 from three (54%).

At halftime, Larkin and I connected with Drew and Nick in the Sierra Nevada Draught House.

The Kings have two wins and two losses in games that I have seen in person during the 2023-2024 season.
