The last run on Saturday as we were skiing back to Canyon Lodge, I was chasing the group. Moving flat out on a long easy stretch, we blew pass a small sign in the middle of the run that said
EXPERTS ONLY. We were dropping down into
a short chute right above the lodge called Blue Jay that is marked as a black diamond run. I had to laugh when I saw sign because at that point I was committed...
Coming through South Lake Tahoe, I was surprised to see there is now a
gondola for Heavenly that extends down to the spot right next to the Embassy Suites near the California/Nevada border. Sitting at the light, I watched people come out of the casinos wearing ski clothes and carrying their skis and walk towards the gondola.
