I had a solid lunch-time run. I had originally set the virtual trainer on my Garmin Forerunner 201 for a 8:50 minute per mile pace over 7 miles. I covered the first mile in 8:15 and decided to set the spinnaker. I averaged 8:22 over 7 miles with the following splits: 1-8:15; 2-8:26; 3-8:27; 4-8:09; 5-8:27; 6-8:28; and 7-8:21. I can go faster, but I need to be chasing Wallen.
My best pace on this course is an 8:16 over a slightly shorter distance of 6.30 miles. My running course at work loops around the east side of the Mather Airport.
The weather was beautiful.
