About two years ago, I bought a Series 2 Tivo for the entertainment center in the bonus room. I have been very pleased with its extended feature set. It is attached to my wireless network. I can send the unit requests to record shows from anywhere in the world from the internet. I can transfer recorded material to my personal computer and burn DVDs. You can even edit the material once you get it to the personal computer. We have gotten so used to using it that we were frustrated trying to watch the Tour de France downstairs in the family room without a Tivo.
I got a second Series 2 Tivo for the family room tonight. At some point, I need to put together a network diagram that shows all the different devices we currently have on our home network.
