Lieutenants's Bars Go To Five Aggies
Lieutenant General Robert N. Young, commander of the Sixth Army Area, Tuesday, January 10, pinned Lieutenant’s bars on the shoulders of five cadets winding up their training on the Davis campus of the University of California.
The students honored at the end -of - semester ceremonies in Recreation Hall were Donald Brittsan, Stockton; Richard Heringer, Clarksburg; Scott Jackson, Sacramento; Richard Tanner, Alhambra; and Harold Yee, Los Angeles. These candidates for mid-year graduation are to receive their commissions in the U. S. Army Reserve upon graduation.
The general spoke about a strong R.O.T.C. program to provide a maximum number of qualified young officers for reserve components. He pointed out the fact that the R.O.T.C. furnished more than half. of the regular army officers. The group discussed the distinguished military graduates program and the current reserve forces act.
