On day 40, I rode 17.6 miles across southwestern Wyoming. Starting from the intersection of Highway 28 and County Road 21, I traveled northeast. Exiting Highway 28 at the Lander-Pinedale Stage Road, I turned left on to the Emigrant Trail. I finished the ride at the Pacific Springs Pony Express Station [N42 20 13.0 W108 56 18.0].
