Chris Webber's buyout was close to being finalized Wednesday night, but he was not expected to be waived before Thursday -- meaning he won't be free to sign elsewhere until Monday.
Webber, who turns 34 in March, is listed on the team's salary cap at $20.7 million this season and $22.3 million in 2007-08.
Chris Weber is the second highest paid player in the NBA, behind only Kevin Garnett.
