NBA Power Rankings 2007-2008 Week 7

The Sacramento King's position in Marc Stein's NBA power rankings climbed one spot from 22nd to 21st out of 30 teams.

ESPN - NBA Basketball Power Rankings - National Basketball Association Although not quite in Indiana/Portland territory, Sacramento continues to surprise. We didn't expect nine wins at this point with Bibby out from the start, Artest's long suspension and Kevin Martin going down.

I watched the first half of the loss to the Wizards on Saturday night while running on the treadmill. Artest really misses Martin. When the ball goes in to Artest in the post, he is getting double and triple teamed; he does not have Martin to kick out to on the wing. Too often, Artest now just tries to muscle through the defense. Before Martin's injury, Artest was shooting 48.3% from the field. Since Martin's injury, Artest is shooting 34.7%. While Miller and Moore are playing better, Artest will continue to kill the offense unless Theus solves this problem.
