Taking off after work, Sharon and I headed to Santa Clara. Taking 80 to 680 to 237, it took us about 2 1/2 hours. We are spending one night at the Element Santa Clara.
After having a drink at the bar in the hotel, we had a late dinner at the Athena Grill. For a starter, we split Octopus Mezes [Traditional grilled octopus with olive oil, lemon juice and oregano]. For main dishes, I had a Lamb Souvlaki Plate [Tender pieces of marinated lamb loin grilled on a skewer, served with rice and vegetable medley], while Sharon had a Gyro Plate [Thin slices of seasoned beef served over warm pita, with tzatziki sauce, tomato and red onion, served with side of garlic fries].
