Apple Mountain

Holly, Van, Sharon and I played Apple Mountain. Sharon and I had never played there before. Teeing off at 1:00 pm, we felt like we had the course to ourselves for most of the day. It is a beautiful, but difficut course. We would like to come back with Jack.

With the help of more than a few mulligans, I ended up with a very liberally scored 115. This included six penalty strokes for lost balls. Although still inconsistent, I had a number of shots that I was very happy with. I think that the work on the range on Thursday helped. There was a series of four or five holes on the back nine where I felt like the ball was two feet about my feet on the hillside on every fairway. It was hard on my right knee.
After golf, the four of us had dinner at the Smith Flat House in Placerville. I started with clam chowder, while Sharon had a caesar salad. For the entree, Sharon and I both had the chef's special swordfish.
