2009 Laguna Youth Baseball Picture Day and Hit-a-thon

Jack and I spent the morning at Morse Park getting the individual and team pictures taken. Afterwards, the boys competed in a hit-a-thon. Each player got five batting practice pitches to try and hit the ball as far as he could. The idea was that each player would get pledges and earn money for the league depending on how far he hit the balls.

Over the last year, Jack had completely remade his swing. He has gone from being a contact hitter a year ago to being capable of hitting the ball as hard as anyone on his team. Jack went first for his team, got a couple of high pitches and ended up getting credit for hitting the ball 180 feet. Several of his teammates got credit for rolling it to the 200 foot fence.
