Mormon Island
With the water level of Lake Folsom at 364 feet, I hiked from Browns Ravine out to some of the ruins of Mormon Island. A map of the hike is here. Mormon Island was a gold rush town that was inundated by Folsom Lake. A California Historical Marker [#569] for the town is north of the site. With the lake at low levels, a couple of buildings have been uncovered.
