Sharon and I went to the Effie Yeaw Nature Center for a two plus hour evening lecture on the ancient sport of falconry, including how the sport has evolved around the world through many cultures to what role it plays in today’s technology driven world. The speaker was Shawna Protze. Pictured above, her birds are a Peregrine-Falcon mix named Thyme and a Western Red-Tailed Hawk named Dovahkiin.
