Sully

Sharon and I went to see Sully at the Palladio 16 Cinemas in Folsom. The film follows Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger's January 2009 emergency landing of a passenger jet on the Hudson River. All 155 passengers and crew survived with only minor injuries. The subsequent publicity and NTSB investigation play a major role in the film.

The movie is based on the autobiography Highest Duty by Captain Sullenberger and Jeffrey Maslow. It stars Tom Hanks as Sullenberger, with Aaron Eckhart, Laura Linney, Anna Gunn in supporting roles.

Every year, Sharon and I try to see all of the movies that are nominated for the best picture Oscar. Sully shows up on a couple of lists as a possible best picture nominee. I enjoyed the movie a lot; it is a very solid film. I think that it could gain a best picture nomination.

One footnote, this was first time Sharon and I have been to a Palladio theater. I like the theater set-up. The seats were very comfortable. We will definitely go back.

After the movie, we had a very good meal at Land Ocean. Sharon had sea bass, while I had ahi tuna.
