Last July after an extended struggle, one of our neighbors was evicted. The bank allowed him to come back in early August and collect his belongings.
It is an interesting backstory. Cook was a major Sacramento developer and part owner of the Kings and the Capitals (World Team Tennis).
The house has sat empty for more than a year. This summer, the bank actually tried to sell it on an auction web site, but it didn't reach the minimum reserve pice.
The house finally sold. It closed on Friday. It has been purchased by a couple (Brad and Heidi) that know several other families in the neighborhood.
The house sits at the end of our very small cul-de-sac. It needs a lot of work. The new owners are planning to replace the roof, redo the brick work in the front and eventually paint it.
