Jill, Wallen and I started the day with breakfast at the Family Pancake House. I had the Paul Revere (two eggs, two strips of bacon and three pancakes).
Jill dropped us at the ferry terminal. We were lucky to get tickets on the 10:30 am fast ferry to Seattle.
Like year, I planned this visit to the Wallens around a Seattle Mariners afternoon game. I got two tickets to the Mariners versus the Orioles on Stubhub: Section 128, Row 29, Seats 1 and 2.
Walking to the stadium, we stopped and toured Becky's new apartment. It is only a couple of blocks from the stadiums. Afterwards, we stopped and had a beer at Sluggers. From there, we headed to the game.
The Mariners beat the Orioles by the score of 3 to 0. Bryan Woo pitched seven shutout innings. Woo (6-5), who pitched into the eighth inning for the first time this season, allowed just three hits and matched his season high with nine strikeouts. He walked one and hasn't allowed a run in his last four home starts. The Mariners scored all of their runs in the first with two outs against Shane Baz (4-7). Josh Naylor, who missed the first two games of the series with a sore wrist, singled and reached second on an error. A four-pitch walk to Dominic Canzone brought up Cole Young, whose double scored Naylor. Canzone and Young scored on Colt Emerson’s single to right. Baz retired 15 of the final 16 he faced before leaving after seven innings.
Wallen and I caught the 4:30 pm boat ferry back to Bremerton. Playing two more games of cribbage, Wallen won both of them. I feel one point short of winning the second game...
Walking off the ferry, Wallen and I met Jill at Anthony's at Sinclair Inlet for an early dinner. I had Smoked Salmon Fettuccine [Wild and kippered salmon, fresh fettuccine, mushrooms, zucchini, onions, herbs, garlic cream sauce, capers and fresh dill].
We finished the night watching the sunset on the hardscape on Phinney Bay. We made an attempt to FaceTime with Drew, but had connectivity problems.
After a couple of late nights, we crashed before 10 pm.
