2013 All World Sports World Series Day 3

After staying at the Grand Sierra in Reno on Thursday, the Walbeck Elite 15u had to play the NorCal Cardinals 16u at James Lee Park in Indian Hills south of Carson City on Friday morning. Luckily, they have opened the new section of 395 between Reno and Carson City so it was a fairly quick drive. Apparently one of Jack's teammates from Jesuit [Sogart] is on the Cardinals, but missed the game due to summer school.

Entering the game in the fourth inning, Jack had one walk. In his only at-bat, he ran the count full and drew a lead-off walk. Jack stole second and went to third on a passed ball. Unfortunately, even though there were not outs, the Elite couldn't get Jack home!

In the field, Jack played three innings in centerfield. He had no put-outs or assists.

The Elite beat the NorCal Cardinals by the score of 6 to 5.

A large group ended up having lunch at Wasabi in Reno. A number of us, including all of the boys, had all you can eat sushi.

After I dropped Sharon and Jack at the Grand Sierra, I went to a Suds and Duds Laundromat and washed Jack's uniforms for Saturday and Sunday.

After we got back to the Grand Sierra, Jack spent most of the late afternoon and evening running with a group of boys from the team. Sharon and I had a lazy dinner at Briscola. Sharon had spaghetti and meatballs, while I had a pizza.
