The Walbeck Elite 15U team played Hard 90 at Bella Vista High School. There were three players on the Hard 90 that Jack played with on the Jesuit freshman baseball team: Ryan, Sam and Bryce. Sam also played with the Sacramento Storm on Sunday.
At the plate, Jack was 0 for 3 with a walk. In his first at-bat, he hit a 2 and 0 pitch for a sharp ground ball up the middle. The shortstop (Sam) made a nice play and threw Jack out at first. Facing Ryan, Jack walked on five pitches in his second plate appearance. He went to second on Matt's single and was tagged out on Chris' fielder's choice. In his third at-bat, Jack popped a 2 and 2 pitch up to the second baseman for an out. He hit a 0 and 2 pitch for a soft fly ball to the first baseman for an out in his fourth plate appearance. When Jack hit it, I initially thought that it would drop for a single.
Jack was the designated hitter and did not appear in the field.
The Elite scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth and six runs in the bottom of the fifth. They won the game by the score of 14 to 5.
The Elite will be playing in the All World Sports World Series in Nevada on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
