This is going to be an interesting soccer season. Last year, Jack's team had 9 wins and 1 loss. To this team, the coach has added two more strong players. They now have a nucleus of at least 6 strong players.
Tonight, they scrimmaged the only team that they lost to last year. Jack's team outscored the other team by at least 10 to 1. It would have been worse, but the other team fielded a strong goalie in the fourth quarter who made 7 great stops and only allowed one goal.
Jack played very well. He had some solid defense stops, set-up two of the goals and had two saves as goalie in the fourth quarter. The whole team's spacing was very good. Jack was frustrated that he did not score; he has had a lot of success scoring goals in his first two seasons. It is going to be interesting for him to learn how to be a player on a very strong team, rather than the star on a weak team.
