CIO Tyler Whetstine to leave organization

It continues to be an interesting journey at Ad/ventist Health. The CIO that hired me into my current role as Chief Technology officer passed away in early 2017. This transition will mark the fifth CIO in the last six years: Alan, Karl, Matt, Tyler and now Brett.
As we continue to restructure our organization, Chief Information Officer Tyler Whetstine will be leaving Ad/ventist Health later this year to pursue other opportunities. He will transition on April 4 to a special projects role for several months, working closely with CFO John Beaman.

“Tyler has contributed significantly to improving our IT systems over the past four years as a Cerner executive and then as CIO for Ad/ventist Health,” COO Todd Hofheins said. Highlights have included achieving Most Wired recognition for three years in a row, earning the highest level of achievement for acute care and outpatient Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) by the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and supporting the organization’s recovery from the Kronos ransomware attack in December.

With Tyler’s transition, a new executive for IT will be recruited, reporting to Brett Spenst, chief finance and information officer.
