To St. Helena and Back

I spent the lion's share of the day traveling to St. Helena and back for work. From January 2015 to September of 2016, I worked at the hospital.

This is the first time that I have been to the site since June of 2019. I was shocked at the damage to the area by the Glass Fire. Parts of the area look and feel so much different.

Waze routed me home on Sage Canyon Road via Lake Berryessa and through Winters. I was shocked at the traffic when I transitioned from 113 to 80. At 3 pm on a random Thursday, the traffic was backed up all the way to the causeway. While it took me an hour and forty-five minutes to get there in the morning (80 to 12 to 29), it took more than two hours and ten minutes to get home.

  1. It’s always charming when you say loin instead of lion. That darn auto correct!
