2023 Kings versus Cavaliers

Sharon and I went to the Sacramento Kings versus Cleveland Cavaliers NBA basketball game. We had chicken rice bowls for dinner at Star Ginger in the Golden 1 arena. I bought seats 11 and 12 in Row J in section 109; I would buy these seats again.

Leading most of the game, the Kings opened up a twenty point lead in the third quarter. They won the game by the score of 132 to 120.

After missing two weeks with an ankle injury, De'Aaron Fox returned. He was the high scorer for the Kings. In 28 minutes, Fox had 28 points on 11 for 20 from field, 2 for 6 from three and 4 for 7 from the free throw lines.

Three other Kings scored 20 points or more. Murray scored 25 points including 5 for 8 from three. Sabonis had 23 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds. Huerter added 20 points including 6 for 9 from three.

The high scorer for the Cavs was Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell had 22 points on 7 for 21 from the field, 4 for 9 from three and 4 for 4 from the free throw line. I was surprised to see Murray guading Mitchell for long stretches of the game.

Although we didn't connect with them, the Ad/ventist Health IT team was in the loft. The group included Jennifer, Patrick, his wife Gina, Tarek, Melissa, Matt Draws and Rob. Bill Evans was also at the game in section 113.

Leveraging last year's Light the Beam theme, the Kings have added a beam inside the arena at the end of winning games. This has created an interesting dynamic of a lot more people staying to the end of games!

The Kings have one win and no losses in games that I have seen in person during the 2023-2024 season.
