2009 Kings versus Knicks

Jack and I went to the Sacramento Kings versus New York Knicks NBA Basketball game. Somewhat unexpectedly, I am enjoying watching this Kings team a lot. It is built of a group of very young players who play with passion and have some athleticism.

The Kings pulled away in the second half to win by a score of 111 to 97. The Kings led by 20 points after three quarters. Last year, the Kings had 2 wins and 7 losses in games that I saw in person. This year I have already seen them win twice!

Led by Donte Green with 24 point (6 for 7 from three), 5 assists and 6 blocks, seven Kings scored in double figures. Evans had 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

At 5' 9", Nate Robinson was a force of nature. He had 25 points (4 for 8 from three). I swear that I saw him almost outrebound Jason Thompson in traffic near the rim; I looked like he was flying rather than jumping.

The Knicks are a bad team. I thought that Coach Mike D'Antoni's head was going to explode on the sidelines as the Knicks made bonehead play after bonehead play.

Yankee's pitcher CC Sabathia was at the game sitting in the front row to our right. He played high school sports in Vallejo.
