2013 Jesuit Frosh Baseball Team

The Jesuit Frosh baseball tryouts have been a gut wrenching three plus weeks. When we went to the baseball parent orientation, they said that there were 50 freshman boys signed up. I think slightly more than 40 boys actually ended up showing up for the tryouts.

The first set of cuts were made on February 10. While Jack, Cooper and AD survived, Michael did not. The basketball players and wrestlers joined the remaining group last Wednesday.

The team scrimmaged the Bella Vista Broncos on Saturday and then had another practice today scrimmaging against each other. The coaches finally emailed the final roster about 8:30 p.m. Jack made the team!

Unfortunately, Cooper did not. Neither did AD (De Anda). While Sharon and I are excited for Jack, we have a heavy heart about Coop and AD. Jack has played baseball with Coop for almost five years. We have built some deep connections with the Renteria family. AD was part of the original Gunners group that went to Cooperstown in 2009.

The roster for the 2012 Jesuit Frosh baseball team is:

Abercrombie
Alameida
Allman
Beards
Chiappe
Colombara
Cosca
Fitzsimon
Flores
Heringer
Isola
Iwasa
Jacobi
Kane
Redmond
Roessler
Sogard
Starosciak
Vujovich
Wolger

We are looking forward to the adventure of the next several months, particularly the games against Christian Brothers! The Marauders will be scrimmaging Davis and Rocklin in Davis next weekend.
