Up fairly early, I ran 4.1 miles along the Highway 147 north of the Dorado Inn. Sharon and Janie took off to hike to to the top of Mount Lassen.
Jack and I started to go out on the boat with Tomasin and Chris. Unfortunately, Tomasin's wakeboard was missing. After a search of the cabin and the truck, it was apparent that his wakeboard had probably been left leaning against the storage shed in Clear Lake.
After the resulting turmoil, Jack and I ended up going out on the Hunter's boat with Hunter and Debbie. We met up with the Snipes who were already out on the boat; they have rented a boat for the week. After spending some time swimming in the lake. Hunter worked with Jack on getting up on the wakeboard. Jack got to the point where he could get up on the wakeboard. He will have the rest of the week to work on what to do once he gets up. Debbie also went on the Wakeboard.
A large group spent part of the afternoon around the picnic tables. Drew and Marlana showed up about 2:00 p.m. The group of older kids that are part of the trip is amazing. At one point on Sunday, we had 19 kids between the age of 18 and 25. With many of them bringing their own cars, there was literally no place to park.
In the late afternoon, Snipes took Drew, Jack, Marlana and I out on his boat to tube. Jack and Drew went for a while and then I went with Jack. The bad news is that on the last run I tweaked my back. It is going to be interesting to see how much it brothers me the rest of the week.
Sharon and Janie got back about 5:30 p.m. They ended up hiking a different trail than the one they had planned. The trail to the top of Lassen was closed due to a recent tragedy.
The Bob Wallens made a great Mexican dinner including enchiladas and refried and black beans. We finished the night listening to Drew and Marlana perform a long set around the picnic tables.
