2010 LYB Major Angels Game #12

The Angels played their twelfth game of the 2010 Laguna Youth Baseball Major season. They played the White Sox. The Angels beat the White Sox by a score of 4 to 3 in early April.

At the plate, Jack was 2 for 3 with a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored. In his first at-bat, he drove the first pitch into right field for a single. Jack scored from first on Dominic's single to left center.

Jack walked on four pitches in his second plate appearance to bring in a run. Dominic doubled to put him at third. Breyton was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  While Anthony was batting, I watched Jack walk back and forth on the third base line measuring the pitcher and the catcher. Jack made a decision on his own to steal home. When the ball was thrown back to the pitcher after the third pitch, Jack broke for home and was safe at the plate.

Jack came to bat for the second time in the third inning for his third plate appearance. With the bases loaded, he drove to a 3 and 1 pitch deep into the hole on the left side, Zach scored and Jack was safe at first. Jack ended the inning at first base. With the game out of hand and the coaches encouraging the Angels batters to swing at anything close, Jack popped up a high pitch to the first baseman in his fourth at-bat.

In the field, Jack played three innings at third base and one inning in left field. In a somewhat bizarre game, he never touched the ball.

Leading 2 to 0 after two innings, the Angels sent 19 batters to the plate in the top of the third and scored 14 runs. All twelve of the Angels players scored at least once in the inning.  As a side note, with Austin pitching an inning of this game, ten of the twelve players on the Angels have now pitched at least one inning.

The Angels won the game by the score of 17 to 1. The box score is here and the game log is here. The Angels now have 11 wins and 1 loss for the season.
