Playing their ninth game of the season, the Jesuit Marauders faced the Lincoln of Stockton Trojans at Jesuit High School. Lincoln is a big school; someone said that the school has over 3,000 students. Coming into the game, Lincoln had a record of 8 wins and 0 losses.
The Marauders struggled to put together anything offensively. Lincoln stacked the line of scrimmage and made it difficult for Jesuit to run the veer. When the Marauders tried to throw, the quarterback had very little time. The Marauders trailed by the score of 14 to 0 at halftime. With some big offensive linemen, Lincoln was able to run successfully up the middle. Lincoln won the game by the score of 35 to 0. This is the first game this season that Jesuit has been shut-out.
The Jesuit Marauders frosh football team now has a record of 5 wins and 4 losses. The game log is here.
Jack played more in this game than he has in any game all season. Jack was one of the captains for the second time this season. For the first time this season, Jack started at wide receiver. He also played several sets on defense at free safety. For the second week in a row, Jack had an interception! Unfortunately, Jack also made a number of visible mistakes. At free safety, he came up to tackle the running back that had broken into the defensive backfield. Jack set himself up nicely for the tackle, but the running back hurdled over him and gained another ten yards. The coaches pulled him out after the play. On offense, he had only one pass thrown to him. On a broken play late in the game, he dropped a catchable pass. It will be interesting to see how much he plays next week in the last game of the season.
