Dinner with Holly and Van

Friday night, Sharon and I had dinner with Holly and Van at Localis. The restaurant has Michelin Plate Award.

The evening took an unexpected turn. Van had delivered both of the owners' babies. Walking into the restaurant behind Sharon after parking the car, I found the group engaged in a animated discussion with the wife. As a result, although we only were doing the seven course tasting menu, I think that we ended up with a number of the dishes from the twelve course menu plus some additional attention from the wait staff.

The food was good, but not as good as the Painted Lady. Sharon and I had intended to split a wine pairing, but the pores were very small. As a result, I pivoted and ordered a class of wine. The restaurant was very loud. I was a little grumpy at the beginning because it took almost twenty minutes to serve the cocktails that we ordered.
