Outlaws versus Laguna 9Us

This video was taken with a iPhone 3GS. I like the video because you can actually see the ball taking off in the upper left corner of the video!

The Laguna 9U Cal Ripken team won the Norcal tournament and will play in the regional tournament in Bakersfield starting next weekend. Looking for some teams to play as a tune-up, they scheduled a scrimmage against the Outlaws.

Jack was 2 for 4 with two strike-outs and a walk. He struck out swinging in his first at-bat. In his second plate appearance, Jack drove a 2 and 0 pitch into deep right center for a double. He hit a hard grounder up the middle in his third plate appearance and was safe at first. Jack struck out looking in his fourth at-bat. He walked in his fifth plate appearance against Joe.

In the field, Jack played four innings at third base, one inning in right field, pitched one inning and played catcher for the last two innings. Jack was effective in one inning the he pitched; he did not allow a run. With the day heating up, Jack caught the last two innings. He was beat by the end of two innings catching Pat and Breyton. I can not remember Jack catching in a game situation since Double AA.

I am not sure what the final score was. In eight innings, the Outlaws pitched 8 different pitchers and got knocked around pretty good. Joe hit a two run homer for the Bullets. The Bullets won by a bunch...
