Mad Men - Season One

Sharon and I finished watching season one of Mad Men on the AppleTv. Season one takes place between March and November 1960. It introduces the fictional 1960s advertising agency Sterling Cooper on new secretary Peggy Olson's first day.

As Sharon is tired of hearing me say, the series is not what I expected. I am not sure why, but I thought that the show was going to be lighthearted. My expectations may have been driven by seeing John Hamm in a number of lighter roles in other shows.

The show is a serious look at the changing moods and social mores of 1960s America.

It is shocking how much the characters smoke and drink hard alcohol.
