Jesuit Frosh baseball versus Del Campo

The Jesuit Marauders played the Del Campo Cougars in their 25th game of the season. The Marauders beat the Cougars on April 22 by the score of 30 to 0!?!

With the season winding down against a series of very weak teams, the coach is taking the opportunity to play a number of players who have not played as much over the course of the season. The first seven players in the line-up against Christian Brothers (Jack, Jordan, Iwasa, Jared, Bailey, Byrce and Alex) did not play for the second time in three games.

I posted in early April with some thoughts about Sacramento area high school baseball. The games against Del Campo and Casa Roble reinforce the point that I was trying to make about the quality of the Jesuit freshman team. Against both of these teams, the coach played the 10th through 19th players on the team and still 10 runned both opponents.

The Marauders scored 15 runs in the bottom of the second inning. Kyle actually batted three times and had three singles. The Cougars committed 9 errors in the inning and allowed 12 unearned runs. The Marauders beat the Cougars by the score of 16 to 1. The box score is here and the scorecard is here.

Allman (1 - 0, ERA 1.75, 1 start, 1 appearance, 4.0 innings) was the winning pitcher.

The Jesuit Frosh baseball team now has 20 wins and 5 losses. In league, they have 13 wins and 1 loss. The game log is here. The Marauders next game is Saturday, May 4 at home against Ponderosa. They will be playing their last home game of the year on the varsity field.
