Jack played in his eleventh game of the 2009 Laguna Youth Baseball Minor League Season. The Twins played against the Rockies. Coming into the game, the Rockies had a record of 9 wins and no losses. The Rockies team includes three players from the Gunners Tournament team (Josh, Matthew and Patrick) and one other U9 all star from last year (Cameron).
At the plate, Jack was 2 for 2. In his first at-bat against Patrick, he ran the count to 3 and 2 and then drove one into the gap in deep left center. The ball bounced twice to the fence and Jack legged out a triple. He stole home on a passed ball. Jack hit one through the left side of the infield against Josh in his second plate appearance. He stole second and third, but was left on third at the end of the inning.
Over the last three games, Jack is 6 for 6 with a walk. This includes hits off of three Gunners: Nikko, Patrick and Josh.
In the field, Jack played four innings at third base and two innings at shortstop. At third, he made a great catch on a rocket hit down line. He fielded one other grounder cleanly, but the throw was a little high and pulled the first baseman off the bag.
The Twins lost the game by a score of 8 to 2. The box score is here. Their record for the season is 4 win, 6 losses and 1 tie. Three of the next four games are against the best teams in the league (Dodgers, Giants and Rockies).
