2011 Kings versus Celtics

Larkin and I went to the Sacramento Kings versus Boston Celtics NBA basketball game. It was a very entertaining game. As Larkin pointed out before the tip-off, there were probably four future hall of famers on the court for the Celtics: Shaq; Garnett; Pierce, and; Allen.

The Kings kept the game interesting. With 58 seconds left in the third quarter, the Kings led by the score of 71 to 70. The Kings got outscored 21 to 19 in the fourth quarter and lost by the score of 95 to 90.

Ray Allen led all scorers with 22 points on 9 for 15 from two point range and 4 for 7 from three point range. I love to watch Allen shoot. Larkin, Cindy, Sharon, Jack and I saw him put the Sonics on his back in a play-off game against the Kings and score 45 points.

Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins both had 20 points for the Kings. Evans was 6 for 13 from two point range, 2 for 2 from three point range and 6 for 8 from the free throw line, while Cousins was 7 for 14 from two point range, 1 for 2 from three point range and 5 for 6 from the free throw line.

It was a nice crowd. While not as many as the Laker fans earlier this year, I was surprised at the number of Celtics fans wearing green. Except for some seats in the corners of the upper deck, Arco Arena was full. The box score shows the attendance at 16,482. Unlike some games earlier this year, I feel like the announced attendance was pretty accurate.

Hunter was at the game with Danny, Danny's girlfriend and a friend of Danny's. He and I spent the half-time catching up in the concourse. It has been almost 25 years since Hunter, Cindy, Larkin and I went to the Kings and Celtics game in the old arena.

The Kings now have 2 wins and 5 losses in games that I have seen in the 2010-2011 season.
