The Outlaws were back at the Woodland Sports Complex Sunday morning for a 10 a.m. game against Bulldog Baseball. The Outlaws got flattened by Bulldog Baseball last February. After losing two close games on Saturday, their chances of advancing to the elimination round on Monday seemed slim.
At the plate, Jack was 0 for 1 with a walk, a run scored and a strike-out. In his first at-bat, he walked on six pitches. Jack scored from first on Josh's triple to right center. He struck out swinging on a 2 and 2 count in his second plate appearance. In the fifth inning, Jordan was substituted for Jack and reached base on an error by the second baseman. Jack was substituted back into the game for Jordan. He went to second on a passed ball and third on a wild pitch, but ended the inning at third base when Josh struck out.
In the field, Jack played six innings at third base. I love to watch Jack play third. He had five assists on grounders to the left side and throws to first base to get the runners. In the fourth inning, Jack fielded three straight grounders ranging both to his right and to his left and threw out the runners.
With Josh throwing an 82 pitch complete game, the Outlaws won the game by the score of 6 to 1. The box score is here.
The Outlaws have 2 wins and 4 losses for Spring 2011 season. The game log is here.
The Outlaws ended up seeded sixth out of twelve teams and will be back to play the Golden Spikes on Monday in the elimination round of the tournament.
