2009 Flag Football Game #3

Jack played in his third game of the 2009 flag football season. We missed the game last weekend when Jack played baseball with the Outlaws in Woodland. The Quick Silver played against the Titans. With a 1 p.m. start time, the temperature was above 100 degrees.

With only 7 players, Jack played a lot more than normal. On offense, Jack played center most of the game. He caught five passes for two touchdowns and about 125 yards of offense. Catching one of the passes coming across the middle at midfield, Jack angled towards the sideline. When he got within about 2 or 3 yards of the sideline about the 30 yard line, he cut back and streaked towards the end zone flag on the other side of the field for a touchdown. The other touchdown was a short pass with all the other receivers going one way and Jack going the other.

On the last play of the game, Jack was open in the flat. His normally sure hands failed him and he dropped an easy pass that hit him in the chest.

Neither of the coaches were there. The team was coached by one of the CSD staff people for the afternoon.

The Quick Silver lost the game by a score of 13 to 12. Their record in the games that Jack has played this year is 1 win and 2 losses.

With the 100 degree plus weather and all of the running he did, Jack was physically and emotionally fried by the end of the game.
